CRAB OK, the winter was mild enough that people have been out for ages, though perhaps only the brave, of recent.  But rumor has it that College racing starts this weekend.  Unfortunatley, the college racing schedule has not been added to the calendar, so we cannot alert the River community.  Please, could someone upload the college racing calendar to the calendar, it would be most helpful.   Fancy yourself a better writer than me?   I've set the bar low so don't be shy, step on up to take over the weekly CRAB notices.  Seriously folks, I'm short on time these days.  If you can help please email me at kategalway@yahoo.com   UPCOMING EVENTS  April 1, 2, 2017 **Possibly college racing"""  use caution  April 8, 2017 3:30PM.  Location unknown (Powerhouse?).  BB&N Boys Varsity V. CRLS and Milton for the Mayors Cup. 4:30PM.   Location unknown (Powerhouse?).  Belmont Hill to scrimmage Exeter and Deerfield. April 9, 2017 10:00AM, Crusher Casey Stake Race.  Riverside Boat Club to Newell Boahouse, and back.  Expect a few waves of eights followed by a slew of singles to race in this hotly contested event.  Winners get their names engraved on a wrestling-like belt, so this is very serious.  This is all in honor of former Riverside member and former national rowing champion in Ireland, England and the US, professional boxer and professional wrestler, Steve "Crusher" Casey.  Google him, its worth it.   Launces will be on hand to assist with logistics but all others are asked to use extreme caution around the stake (Newell boathouse area) and also yeild to racers.
