This weekend on the Charles and an updated HEADS UP! for next weekend.

Please share with your memberships and any anticipated guests.
 
Here's whats going on on the river this weekend, and an updated heads up for next weekend.  Please take note of the boyscout event on October 7th.  All boathouses are asked to take any and all measures to alert members AND guests of this event.  Rowers, in particular need to be proactive in making sure no one is heading full tilt for the Head of the Charles finish line into a pack of boyscouts.
 
SATURDAY, Sept. 29th.
Host - MIT Collegiate Sailing Regatta - between Longfellow and Harvard (Mass Ave) bridges.  Smith Trophy- 20 Teams, 20 boats.  If you have not read up on your 'sailing advisory for rowers and other boaters', now would be a good time to do that.  Find it on the rowing and other boating pages on the CRAB website.
 
SUNDAY, Sept. 30th.
9AM TO 11AM.  BU v. URI Women.  2 x HOCR  (meaning 2 times on teh Head of the Charles Course, BU Boathouse to about 10 strokes upstream of the wooden boardwalk at Herter Park).  WILL BUOY THE ELLIOT TURN   approximately 6 boats total on the course.  If you have not read up on your 'rowing advisory for sailors and other boaters', now would be a good time to do that.  Find it on the sailing and other boating pages on the CRAB website.
 
 
HEADS UP!
Sunday, October 7th,
9am to 5pm, 90!  Canoes and Kayaks will be filled with Boyscouts paddeling between Eliot and Arsenal Bridges.  If rowing, it is highly recommended that you finish your HOCR pieces and flee the area BEFORE 9am.  All rowing boathouses are asked to make sure that any out-of-town guest are aware of this and do not launch past 7am.
 
7pm to 10pm  (updated time from the DCR)
The River will be CLOSED from Arsenal Bridge to Elliot Bridge for a DCR Permitted event involving a fireworks barge.  Please adjust your schedules accordingly.  The barge will travel up river to be in place by 7pm and will exit the river immediately following the event.
